1. Domain

In applying for a Domain Name normally you would have to pay a registration fee and an annual renewal fee. With the BServer we arrange for one Domain Name registration and it won't cost you anything at all. Having your own domain name will provide you with certain advantages:

Gives Exclusivity

Without your own domain name, you don't have much of a choice; your email and web addresses will generally be based on the domain name of your host or Internet service provider, such as But having your own domain name is like owning your own virtual real estate; your own slice of cyber turf, if you will. Such exclusivity can help build name recognition for you and your company.

Adds Credibility

As the saying goes: "You never get a second chance to make a first impression", and in business, first impressions count. Having your own domain name projects a professional image of you and your company, normally associated with large companies. It tends to say to others that you're a serious business person, operating an established business, in a professional manner.

Allows Mobility

As mentioned above, if you set up a web site without owning your own domain name, you end up using the domain name of your web host (ISP) by default. Such a web address is not mobile; you can't take it with you if you ever decide to switch to another web host (ISP). Ownership of your own domain name gives you the option of moving your web site to another host without losing your web address. You can pull up stakes at any time and take your domain name with you.

Avoids Loss of Momentum

It takes effort to promote a web site. Fortunately, over time, some of those marketing efforts can build momentum, bringing more and more traffic to your site without additional marketing effort. But unfortunately, if you can't take your web address with you when you switch to another ISP or host, you can lose much - if not all - of the momentum gained by your previous web marketing efforts. Having the option to move your web site to another host without losing your web address is always a good one to have available. Domain name ownership gives you that option, and any momentum you've gained from previous efforts involved in promoting your web site doesn't go down the drain.

2. Firewall

Fully configured Firewall, specific ports can be opened on client's request.

Your Physical Network and DATA Security is of extreme importance to the survival of your company. Without a Firewall your company network and data will be vulnerable to attacks from hackers who may be trying to steal sensitive data, usernames and passwords. Firewalls watch over your ports for anything suspicious. The BServer controls access to and from your network, making sure your company network is not being attacked or your data is being stolen. Commercial Firewall software on its own, is expensive to purchase, we include a firewall in the monthly rental.

3. Proxy Server

Bandwidth monitoring, block web sites, cache frequently used web sites.

The proxy server ensures security, administrative control and caching. The BServer can restrict individual user bandwidth, monitor connections to the internet and block unwanted web browsing. Caching speeds up Internet access for frequently accessed web sites.

4. FTP Server

Fully Functional FTP Server to upload and download files using the FTP service. You will now be able to supply your clients with FTP access allowing them to download or upload larger files.

5. Web Server

Client can run their own web site (no web hosting fees)

You host your own Web Server which means you have direct access to it on your own local network without having to connect to your ISP to administer your website. The only space limitations you have are those set by your own BServer Hardware. You can also run your Web Server from another machine and still use the BServer Firewall to protect it.

The advantages of having your own website:

At a minimum, your products or services will get more exposure. Your web site can be your online brochure. If a potential customer phones up and wants information, all you have to do is give them your website address. You don't have to courier the information to them, or post it, or fax them a black and white copy.

When a potential customer goes to your website, they'll get your information in full colour available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

You can educate your customers, you can have articles, you can have comparisons to competition, you can have links to resources to back up your claims, you can have real video or audio to present your information... the list just goes on.

In essence, you need a Website in order to:

  1. increase your sales
  2. decrease your expenses and
  3. expand your market.

There are no ifs, buts or maybes about it ... it doesn't matter what your offline business is, you should have a website!

6. EMail Server

Unlimited users - do not pay per user.

Most ISPs will give you a limited amount of email addresses and mailbox space for your business. The BServer however allows you to have unlimited email addresses, aliases and, mailbox space is only limited by how much hard disk space you have available.

Anti-Virus For EMail

All emails are checked for viruses at the BServer.

Virus definitions are automatically downloaded and updated on the BServer every hour to provide maximum security for your network. Every incoming and outgoing email is scanned for viruses. Avoid computer downtime and loss of productivity because of a virus attack.

Spam Checking

Filters out 99% of all Spam

Spam is unsolicited e-mail on the Internet. From the sender's point-of-view, it's a form of bulk mail, often to a list culled from subscribers to a Usenet discussion group or obtained by companies that specialize in creating e-mail distribution lists. To the receiver, it usually seems like junk e-mail. In general, it's not considered good netiquette to send Spam. It's generally equivalent to unsolicited phone marketing calls except that the user pays for part of the message since everyone shares the cost of maintaining the Internet.

7. Access your Computers from anywhere

Work on your office computer from anywhere on the internet

No need to copy files and setup applications on your notebook, now you can access your office computers from anywhere as though you were sitting in your office. You can now also have your support technician connect directly to your computer and interact with you on your screen.

8. Remote Monitoring of the BServer
